Echodyne Joins Northern Strike 25 Large Scale Counter Drone Exercise

Echodyne participated in Northern Strike 25, one of the U.S. military’s largest joint all-domain readiness exercises focused on quality Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) training designed to build readiness for modern warfare. The National All-Domain Warfighting Center (NADWC) located at Camp Grayling Northern Strike offers a premier environment to test and showcase innovative threat response capabilities alongside warfighters in realistic combat scenarios. Over 7.5k joint U.S. and Allied participants from inside and outside the continental U.S. traveled to Michigan for the joint training exercise and more than 30 U.S. states were represented.

Echodyne provided precise radar data in the contested muti-domain training environment ensuring force protection decision clarity as threats evolved rapidly throughout the exercise.

The Echodyne team supported specific operational tasks, missions and threats unique to C-UAS missions. The Echodyne team specifically supported Kinetic C-UAS lane training and supported Camp Grayling’s range control and force protection safety procedures by providing real-time surveillance and tracking of aerial and ground activity throughout the exercise. As training mission sets adjusted live to simulate a dynamic battlespace, Echodyne’s low SWaP, highly portable radars enabled rapid radar redeployment throughout the exercise and the data successfully pushed to tactical networks (TAK) enabling an enhanced common operating picture.

EchoShield, Echodyne’s medium range, low-SWaP COTS radar rapidly detected, classified and tracked multiple C-UAS simultaneously, including a 200-drone swarm. EchoGuard, Echodyne’s short-range portable radar, supported precision tracking and defeat missions throughout the exercise.

The successful C-UAS training would not have been possible without collaboration from Echodyne’s critical partners including Strongwatch, Persistent Systems, Bren-Tronics and Picogrid.

As UAS threats continue to evolve, Echodyne remains committed to advancing C-UAS force readiness through ongoing exercises and collaboration.

“Northern Strike integrates scalable C-UAS radar systems from industry partners, providing coverage across the National All-Domain Warfighting Center’s expansive training areas. This capability enables the joint force to realistically train against fast-moving, multi-domain small UAS threats,” said Sgt. Maj. Bryan Goff, Senior Enlisted Advisor for Exercise Northern Strike.

“We were honored to participate in Northern Strike 25 and provide mission critical C-UAS radar technology. We look forward to future collaborations with the Michigan National Guard and Joint Forces to ensure force readiness,” said Jeff Phillips, VP DOD/IC at Echodyne.
