The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA/ARL/ATDD has announced the award of a USD29,950 contract with Echodyne Corp to procure a MESA Detect and Avoid Radar System to deconflict small UAS (sUAS) from other aircraft operating in the vicinity of its premises. Echodyne’s Metamaterial Electronically Scanning Array (MESA) technology realizes high-performance phased-array radar performance at breakthrough cost levels, says the company, offering imaging radar to commercial markets for the first time.
