EchoDrive
UGV Radar

EchoDrive is a sophisticated radar inspired by the way the human eyes, ears, and brain combine to understand their surroundings. Today's sensors for unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) are primarily static with one-way data flows, from sensor through fusion to decision and action. But when the data is inconclusive, how can the AV perception stack disambiguate the driving scene?

We believe that dynamic control of sensor resources, similar to how humans move their eyes to focus on areas of ambiguity, will improve autonomous vehicle decision-making and, therefore, safety. EchoDrive puts full control of cognitive radar resources in the hands of vehicle developers and can be customized to mission requirements.

We also offer an EchoDrive variant that outputs complex data at high data-rates for research institutions that require even richer data.

Designed for advanced vehicle AI

EchoDrive is an advanced imaging radar designed for highly autonomous vehicles.

Greater control of the driving scene

Based on a range of stored and real-time data, radar resources can be dynamically allocated to specific areas of the driving scene.

Increase probabilistic confidence

Running, walking, skateboarding, and scootering each have distinct doppler signatures, as do motions and cross sections of different wheel types. EchoDrive provides instantaneous access to this high-value micro-level data, increasing confidence in drive decisions.

Proven. Reliable. Ready to Experiment

Echodyne knows how to make radars that perform. EchoDrive is an experimental, taskable, high resolution, Doppler radar that pushes the boundaries of contemporary vehicle intelligence.
